Bill Bosgraaf

Bill was born August 2, 1949 in Groningen, Netherlands.  After kicking the ball around in the streets for a couple of years, Bill joined the Lycurgus S.V. when he was eight years old and played in their program until he moved to the United States in 1964.  He joined the Vikings S.C. for a year and then while playing at South High School (‘66-’68), where he was named to the State All-Star Team each year, he played a year at Hollandia S.C. , followed by two years with S.C. Berlin.  In 1968 he once again joined Hollandia S.C. until 1973 when Bill and his friends formed Pan World F.C. He served as their president from 1973-’90 and their club’s dominance with the men’s team being voted “Club of the Decade 1975-1984” and women’s team being voted “Club of the Decade 1985-1994” made them the most prolific club in the first one hundred years of the Utah Soccer Association by winning fifteen State Championships between the two teams.  Furthermore, he served as commissioner of the Utah High School Soccer Association from 1970-’82 and attained his State badge as a grade 5 referee in 1982. Bill became president of the Utah Soccer Association in 1986, which position he still retains. His involvement in the USASA started in 1987 when he served for a year on the Credentials Committee and later was appointed to be the Regional Select Teams Commissioner. This followed up by his appointment in 1991 as the Committee’s Chairman until 2005.  In 2002 he was elected as the Region IV Deputy Director which was followed up by his election to the Regional Director position in 2005, a position he currently holds and has served the USASA as part of their Executive Committee. His involvement in Select Teams Program is well documented and he still serves as their liaison and works with our two USASA National Select Teams. During these years, Bill also has served on several USSF Committees, representing the Federation as their Head of Delegation and being a member of the National Board of Directors.

Tim Busch, inductee to the USASA Hall of Fame

Timothy W. Busch

Tim Busch has been actively involved in adult soccer for more than 30 years. His playing career began in 1976 as a founding member of the Columbia Adult Soccer Association (CASA) in Vancouver, Washington , where he performed a variety of roles including President of the Association over the next 13 years. In 1989, Busch relocated to Northwest Washington where he has remained an active player in the Snohomish County Adult Soccer Association. In 1978, Tim began his career as a referee. He was a state level referee for 20 years and remains a registered official. In addition, Busch is an active college referee. Mr. Busch began his involvement with the Washington State Soccer Association (WSSA) in 1984 as a league representative for CASA. Tim has been and currently serves as President of WSSA since 1992. He rapidly established the Washington State Referee Committee during the same year. The WSSA has grown during his tenure to represent more than 11,000 adult players. Busch help found the USASA Veterans Cup in 1998. He is the only chair of the competition in its 10 year history. Since the late 90’s the Veterans Cup has grown from a competition featuring 9 teams to one that regularly approaches 100 teams each year. The establishment of the Veterans Cup is Tim’s proudest achievement.

He continued to play for the Chicago Sport Club in 1930 - after immigrating to Chicago - and was a Goalkeeper for FC Hansa - 1930 to 1936. Facial stitches as well as a broken foot during the 1936 season prompted the change from player to referee. The late 30’s had Richard refereeing major national cup games and in 1939 he was the referee for the Inter-city rivalry between St. Louis and Chicago. In 1948 Richard became Secretary of the National Soccer League in Chicago and served for six years. Before moving to Tucson, Arizona in 1977, he served as Secretary of Illinois State Soccer Association from 1971 through 1973. Although Richard retired from his Referee career at age of 85, he has served as a National Referee Assessor since 1988. Jack Sullivan, inductee to the USASA Hall of Fame

Jack Sullivan

Surprisingly, Jack Sullivan grew up involved in Boston hockey, not soccer. In 1957, Sullivan moved to the Territory of Hawaii as an accountant and has been involved as a volunteer in every facet of the game there for the last 33 years - - in youth, prison, high school, collegiate, amateur and professional programs. Often referred to as "Mr. Soccer" in the state of Hawaii, Sullivan has served and promoted the sport as a coach, administrator, area director, organizer, and fund raiser, and as a color commentator and columnist. As one of the American Youth Soccer Organization’s (AYSO) initial coaches in Hawaii, he assisted in helping find fields for practices and games, dating back to 1974 when AYSO was first introduced on the islands. Sullivan has coached over 20 teams and programs including at the Hawaii Youth Correctional Facility and at the Women’s Prison. Sullivan was one of the founders of the University of Hawaii Division I women’s team and was general manager of the Hawaii Pacific University men’s program. Jack was instrumental in the development of  Honolulu’s Waipio Soccer Complex with 28 fields and a stadium and in hosting the Veterans Cups in 2003 and 2004. Although Sullivan had his hands full, he managed to perform as a sports writer for the Honolulu Sporting News and Sport Hawaii with his own column called "Uncle Jack’s Soccer Corner." Jack has served as color announcer for the Tsunami Professional Soccer Team and at all high school soccer championships at the famed Aloha Stadium. Sullivan joined the Honolulu Quarterback Club to promote soccer and later became president and life member of the organization. In 2007, he was inducted into the AYSO National Soccer Hall of Fame; in 2006, into the Region IV Hall, and in 2004, into the Hawaii Sports Hall of Fame. Presently, he is Treasurer of the Hawaii Soccer Association.
